This is a little bit of an unusual image. The ability to capture the Milky Way over the CP Trestle in the Town of Parry Sound is only possible in the middle of August and when the moon has not yet risen. Earlier this month the view was obscured by smoke from the wildfires in north western Ontario. Fortunately a short window of opportunity presented itself when the skies cleared.
The trestle of course is perfectly flat. The process of capturing multiple images and stitching them together in a panorama results in the ‘humped’ appearance of the trestle. I will figure out how to remove the distortion, but for now it makes for an interesting image, albeit unrealistic. (August 2021)
